Situation

Nemtek were approached by Mr Armando Sanchez, the Managing Director of Wren Kitchens, to secure the perimeter of their newly acquired Manufacturing and Distribution Centre at Barton near Hull.

Task

Due to the large perimeter (about 4 kilometres), an effective solution was required so that site security could be maintained around the entire fence line, thereby reducing the reliance on expensive security patrols.

Action

A 3 metre high 30 wire Nemtek electric security fence system was installed around the 4 kilometre perimeter of the site. The Omega system was attached to the existing 2.4 metre high chain link fence, and in certain areas, a 3 metre high 30 wire free-standing system was adopted.

The system has 50 zones in total and utilises the very reliable Merlin Stealth energizers, controlled via the Nemtek Merlin Fence Probe Software with a Sage Controller. This provides visual map images of the electric fence and relevant zones, and is displayed on a computer screen for ease of operation.

Results

In the five years that the Nemtek electric security fence system has been installed, Wren Kitchens at Barton has not had any intrusions onto the premises via the perimeter fence line. The system has been completely stable and reliable.

Situation

An elderly married couple residing in Johannesburg were recently held up at gun point in their home. With only some of their belongings stolen, they did not want to risk living in fear of the culprits returning for the rest.

Task

They needed an advanced warning security device which could alert them in the case of an intrusion onto their property. A monitored electric security fence was the best option.

Action

A wall top electric security fence was installed using Nemtek’s 8 wire square tubing brackets, mounted with nail in anchors and stays to support the brackets in the corners. Nemtek’s highest quality grade of wire was tensioned with compression springs, hooks and ferrules. The Nemtek Merlin 4 energizer with a siren, strobe and lightning protection was installed in the garage, and the Merlin 4 keypad was installed in the bedroom for easy access should an alarm sound. The warning signs and earth spikes were placed at the legal required spacing, and with the addition of a Nemtek in line sliding gate contact, the gate also became part of the monitored electric security fence. For added security, wall mount loops and in line earth loops were installed in case someone tried to tamper with the electric fence wires.

Results

This home is now securely protected by a monitored security electric fence solution which will sound an alarm if it is cut or tampered with. These customers now have peace of mind knowing that their property is secure, and that they have a reliable and robust deterrent and advanced warning system in place.

Situation

A single young woman had recently purchased a home which had no security installed.

Task

Living on her own, installing a home security solution that had an advanced warning feature was a high priority for her, both to act as a deterrent to any intruders, and to allow her to be able to react in time should an intrusion occur. A monitored electric security fence was an ideal solution to meet her needs.

Action

A 10 wire wall top electric security fence using Nemtek’s square tubing brackets was installed. Stays were mounted in the corners for support. The wire chosen was tensioned with hybrid compression springs, spring hooks and ferrules. The Nemtek Druid 15 energizer with a Nemtek tag, a siren, strobe and lightning protection was installed in the tool shed. The optional extra keypad could be added to the energizer at a later stage if required. The warning signs and earth spikes were placed at the legal required spacing and, by means of a Nemtek in line sliding gate contact, the gate was also now part of this monitored electric security fence. For added security, wall mount loops and in line earth loops were installed in case anyone tampered with the electric fence wires.

Results

With this solution installed, the customer can rest assured knowing that she is protected by a Nemtek electric security fence, which acts as a strong defence against intruders and provides advanced warning in the event someone tries to tamper or break through it.
